  • Amazing

They finally added a native Apple TV app so I don’t need to use chromecast or stream from my iPhone. They also finally added some turner channels. Keep up the good work- I’m telling everyone I know to ditch cable. Btw, I tried DirectTV Now, Sling, Hulu Live and PS Vue... nothing compares. Best interface by far, smooth DVR recording and playback. Can you guys program it so that it goes back to last screen when exiting app and turning it back on? Ex if I’m watching live TV and exit app, I want to be able to go back to live TV immediately... just like turning a TV on/off.
  • The BEST TV App EVER!!!

It’s everything I could’ve dreamed of from a TV app at the moment. I’ve been able to dramatically increase my entertainment consumption simply because of the efficient & intelligent interface, as well as the world-class content available. A definite 5/5 Stars!!!
  • Love the service but...

Would love to see 60fps support on YES Network and main networks like fox nbc and cbs for football. Really hurts the experience when watching live sports. Also MTV and TV land.
  • So/So

Great overall functionality, needs just a tad bit of work. Specifically in the streaming quality being consistent. Verified this not being internet speed based by rewinding and quality pixelation still being there. Had this issue when trying DirectTV Now in the beginning as well. That app has come a long way but does offer far more channels right now which is another area that this app needs to work on for this price. For $35 you can get more channels on DirectTV NOW than the $39 that you pay for the YouTube. Please improve those two suggestions and you’ll have a HUGE competitor and leader! EDIT: 1) thank you for the quick response, one other thing to note. 2) This is a big competitor for those who have Hulu as well. So you have cable, DVR, and on demand all in one!
  • Rate after a few weeks.

I like it’s flexibility in when and where I can watch. Take a Chromecast device with on travels and as long as you have WiFi you can watch on any TV. If you don’t have a TV then watch on any device!
  • Better than Sling

    By geekmamagreen
Most everything about this app I love, I replaced Sling with this. It’s like Sling tv, Hulu and Netflix rolled into one. Amazing selection of movies and shows, great channels, I’ve had no problem with the connection, and I love being able to “record” the shows I love. If I were to make some helpful criticism, I think the navigation is a little annoying and complicated, since I use an Xbox one with a remote, it’s annoying to change screens, and I can’t switch users without using my phone. Getting to the guide while watching a show involves several buttons, and the most annoying thing is if I’m watching a recording, I can’t just stop it, I can pause it or go to the guide and choose a show to watch and that will get me out of it, but there’s no way to just stop the show. It would also be cool if I could have a queue of what I want to watch next.
  • Needs improvement

I just signed up for trial. It’s lacking in a few areas: 1. Needs Picture in Picture (PIP) support on iPad. This alone may get me to not subscribe to YouTube TV. People don’t just do one thing at a time. 2. DVR needs to be able to be setup to record longer than original program time for times when shows air after live events that run long. This is a pretty basic requirement that is missing. 3. DVR needs to be able to be setup to record only first run of a particular show. Currently all showings of a show are recorded. This is another pretty basic function that is missing. The basic functions of app so far are ok but the above are really needed.
  • Great! But could use some improvements

I am in Austin, TX and didn’t want to pay for a super high cable bill any longer. We were deciding between Hulu TV and YouTube TV. The ONLY reason we went for YouTube was because they have AMC so I can get my Walking Dead fix! Great streaming service. I use it via my Xbox One, but using it through an Xbox has it’s downfalls. For instance, when you DVR something and you want to skip through the commercials you have to time it just right in the fast forwarding. I find myself having to rewind a bit to catch the show coming back on from commercial. I would give a 5 star rating if it had the capability, like TiVo has, where you can press fast forward until you see your show then push play and it automatically plays about 5 seconds earlier from where you stopped fast forwarding. Or, I would give 5 stars if they implemented a way for one button fast forward through commercials where the show started back up right as commercials ended. I don’t know if this is just an issue on Xbox or if Apple TV or laptop viewing also has this problem, but it is kind of frustrating/disappointing coming from a Grande Communications DVR system to this. Grande Communications DVR via TiVo is hands down the most ergonomic system I’ve used. Please update this, YouTube! I will update to 5 stars if y’all can make this happen! Everything else is superb! The stream quality, UI of menus. There could be some improvements on user channel choices but I currently have no complaints with this, everything I religiously watch is already provided.

Pretty sweet. Works here in STL wonderfully. It’s definitely worth $40, but I don’t have the additional $40/month to warrant watching TV. One week trial during the Olympics was perfect. Much better than Charter Cable Communications.
